The STARS4TRACE Blockchain network is designed and made available to European Railway value chain. Its purpose is to provide the SMEs with a tool for the traceability of the industrial production and to promote the manufacturing chain enhancing trust and a clear business relationships. The purpose of the tool is to provide a simple way to trace the manufacturing processes by proving them with the documentation which is available during the production phases.

The service has the following features:

  • TIMESTAMPING All the timestamps data of the several Processing phases composing the supply chain are generated from an independent System and shall not be alterable.

  • IMMUTABLE All the data which are inserted in the System, they can be either the documents or metadata or the processing phase, shall not be alterable in a subsequent phase without a clear forgery.

  • NOT REJECTABLE The subject responsible for generating and signing a transaction on the System must not be able to reject the operation on the System.

  • SECRECY All the data and information which are saved in the System shall be readable in clear text only by the authorized personnel.

  • AUTHENTICITY The receiver of the message can identify the sender in a clear way. In order to interact with the Blockchain service, the SMEs are provided with the Web Service with an easy and convenient interface.
